- Notes: The Waldo Theatre will be breeding a new form of plantlife this summer as it produces the cult classic musical: Little Shop of Horrors. Directed by Sue Ghoreyeb with Music Direction by Sean Fleming, the rock musical is a delight to be in and a fantastic time will be had by all audiences!!! Get ready for the plant that plans to eat Waldoboro whole!!! The story follows the tale of one introverted young hero, Seymour Krelnick as he tends to a new kind of plant, the Audrey II; named after his co-worker and the object of his unrequited love, Audrey. They work for Mr. Mushnik, owner of a failing florist shop located on Skid Row. Audrey has a tendency to date truly awful men, and her current boyfriend is a masochistic dentist; Orin Scrivillo. None of these characters is ready for the havoc of having a man eating plant grow to large proportions right in the middle of their flower shop along with the fame and fortune Audrey II brings them. The inhabitants of Skid Row watch with great interest as Seymour becomes a horticultural star and the young girls in the neighborhood sing their way through the story as if a 60’s girl group.
